Hidden Champion-Pioneering Work with a Global Spirit of Innovation

Through uncompromising innovation from a family-owned business to a global player for wood, plastics and aluminium processing machines driven by a tireless spirit for innovation the Felder Group located in the heart of Tyrol develops and produces intelligent solutions and products for all those who want more than just a machine. Trend-setting machine concepts and high-quality products have transformed the family-owned company into one of the leading technology companies in the industry since 1956.

200 models, 4 brands, one production headquarter
The Felder, Format4, Hammer, Mayer brands meet the highest demands in furniture construction, in solid wood processing, window construction, aluminium processing and, with the c-tech product line, also in the processing of plastics. By integrating Otto Mayer Maschinenfabrik into the Felder Group in 2019, our competence in the machining of non-ferrous metals has been further increased.

The development and production of a product range comprising almost 200 machines, from combined standard woodworking machines all the way to high-end 5-axis CNC machining centres or fully automated robotic solutions, takes place at the factory in Hall in Tyrol.

From a Pioneering Spirit to a Leading Edge Technology Company

More than 40 employees in our research department are constantly developing new solutions for the most diverse requirements posed by operators around the world. 35 international patents, 100 new machine developments and market launches as well as 22 million euros of investment in recent years show the importance of our research and development which made us a pioneer in the industry.

World Firsts in Series Production

Back in 2012, the Tyrolean family-owned company set new standards in terms of noise reduction and economic efficiency for surface and thickness planing with their revolutionary Silent-Power® Spiral Blade Cutterblock. One of the most trend-setting innovations to date is the PCS®, the world's first safety device for sliding table panel saws.

In modern carpentry, however, it is not only the machines alone that increase productivity and efficiency through intelligent solutions. The new factors for success are ease of use, smart software support and networked machines. The software from Felder Group increases productivity,

safeguards complex production processes and creates more profit.

Just like intelligent software and networked machines, modern automation and robotics solutions have long since found their place in the skilled trades.

Robotics Solutions and Individual Automation for Trade and Industry

With robot-motion the Felder Group offers individualrobotics solutions that are cost- effective, easy to operate and a real profit earner in daily use. Specially trained automation consultants customise the project solution individually for each customer. Once again the motto is “everything from a single source”, from the analysis of requirements, to consulting and implementation, right through to training and follow-up support.

Always a step ahead

After 65 years, the Felder Group more than ever keepsits finger on the pulse of the times. “There is a constant development of new materials and technological possibilities. Our greatest assets are the decades of experience and constant, uncompromising research. It is important to recognise trends and stay on top of the game by investing in new technologies. No matter where the markets are heading, we will be there.”Hansjörg und Martin Felder, the managing directors of the Felder Group, make a promise for the future.

Digitalisation and Craft 4.0

Felder Group makes it possible

The trade is the backbone of our economy. The personal and individual customer service, a local economic cycle, the use of skilled labour and, last but not least, the positive, ecological footprint are all invaluable advantages.

The trade is the backbone of our economy. The personal and individual customer service, a local economic cycle, the use of skilled labour and, last but not least, the positive, ecological footprint are all invaluable advantages.

The Felder Group as well is rooted in the craft sector and we are always aware of its importance for our development. Promoting the craft sector offers us a multitude of opportunities. For us, investing in the skilled crafts is an investment in sustainability.

The trades are currently moving strongly towards Craft 4.0 and we are well aware of the requirements of the users. A further step towards digitalisation, intuitive handling and high processing safety standards – these are all core competencies to which we pay very close attention in product development. For a long time we have been working intensively on the development of solutions that, for example, make the networking of machines useful for day-to-day use in the skilled trades.

Our customers strive to create a clear and traceable production cycle. This can be done through networking at various levels. The important thing here is to focus on the craft and its requirements. It is not expedient here to simply “copy & paste” from the industrial sector.

In the past year, “digitalisation” has become more important than any other aspect of our everyday lives and working world. Particularly in the field of crafts, users are still somewhat apprehensive about the “digitalisation of data” and the concepts for “Industry 4.0”, however, a digitalised workflow with Felder Group technologies has already become a reality for our customers in the crafts, trade and, of course, the industry.

With F4® Solutions we have integrated all work steps, from planning to assembly, into an intelligent and continuous workflow.

As a result, the production process provides the operator with the information he or she needs at each machine! No matter whether CNC, standard machine or a colourful mix of both. We call that Craft 4.0!
