The Altendorf Group has been awarded the “Innovator of the Year 2022” by the Die Deutsche Wirtschaft (DDW), also known as the German Business Association for its HAND GUARD solution.
“The award underlines our innovative strength and confirms our claim to create an industry-wide safety standard for sliding table saws with our HAND GUARD system,” said Vit Kafka, CSO of the Altendorf Group.
The HAND GUARD solution was developed in response to the growing number of accidents per month in connection with sliding table saws. It ensures that the operator’s hands are not exposed to danger when operating a sliding table saw.
“We started this development three years ago and are pioneers here when it comes to recognising a hazardous situation early enough. AI, or artificial intelligence, helps us to do this,” said Peter Schwenk, CEO of the Altendorf Group.
The award was presented on 4 Nov 2022 by Dr Hermann Simon, author of Hidden Champions of the 21st Century. The Success Strategies of Unknown World Market Leaders and founder of the term “Hidden Champions”.
Earlier in May, the HAND GUARD was certified with the German “GS” seal of tested safety.
